It's Saturday. Some days I just don't want to go *anywhere.* I realize this might make an eighty year old woman, but I'm worn out. I have spent 40 hours of my week at work, 10 hours of my week commuting and a few hours here and there of Happy Hour-ing. Saturdays can tough. Sleeping in? No way. A gimpy puppy is on a schedule! 6 a.m., 8 a.m., 10 a.m.! Can't I get some sleep?!
I have some great things that I'm going to feature every Saturday to make "staying in" a little more fun. Recipes, games, books, cocktails! If you want to play along, let me know and I'll make a McLinky. Anyway, here is my first Stay in Saturday review:
For this activity, adult beverages are preferred (and should be required ;) ).
This game was intriguing because I grew up loving checkers. I typically lost and I felt like now I had something on my side -- a TRAPDOOR. Okay, it doesn't sound that exciting, but it was pretty cute. As you can see in the picture, it's a normal checkers set up with a few "trap doors" (the squares that are brightly colored). Before you move, you turn the dial on the bottom right and it tells you if you should open a trap door. You then make your move as usual.
So... I was losing. I lost real bad more than once. I must admit that this game was mildly addicting. It was fast paced and I was enjoying have a night *at home* instead of running wild around town. I would definitely play this again and I recommend it to people of all ages--families especially. It's nice to feel like you have an "edge" with the trap doors and I'm sure kids would really love that.
