Cruisin' to the Bahamas: Day 1

Living in Florida makes taking a cruise a cheap, quick getaway. I actually live in a city where cruise ships dock, but for this cruise, we decided to head to the other coast so we could have faster access to the Bahamas. We got up extra early and drove to Port Canaveral. It was a fast ride, and we stopped at Ron Jon Surf Shack in Cocoa Beach for trashy tourist shopping.

At the port, boarding was very fast and easy. We were cruising on Royal Caribbean's Monarch of the Seas--one of their older boats.

Leaving port

Pretty pedicures in the pool

Enjoying the view from the top deck

Requirement: Tacky room door decorations. This door was my mom's &
the stickers say "Cougar Crossing."

Dinner on the first night. They gave us a sweet set-up that felt like a VIP lounge at a club, lol.
A nice comfy couch!

As the girls' cruise took off, we enjoyed poolside drinks, yummy food (I tried Indian food for the first time...interesting), and I passed out before midnight. I'm such a rock star!

Oh, and P.S. I made a Facebook page for my blog. I read an article about why every blog needs a Facebook page... and I totally bought into it! Go on, *like* me! Krystal's Kitsch

i wish i lived in florida! cruises really are so cheap from there. when i went on a cruise, we flew to miami then left from there because it was so much cheaper (and prettier) than leaving from galveston!

Ah we've been dying to take a cruise but it's so expensive to get to the bahamas! Your lucky it's so close I'd totally go all the time. And cougar crossing? OMG.. That got a good laugh out of me.

I have lived in Florida since 91 and have never been on a cruise. Lame - I know. Now the prospects are even slimmer!
