Soda Stream Review & Giveaway

Let me just say that I think I’m in love. With a soda maker. Honestly! I never thought that quality tasting soda could be made in my kitchen, but it can and it’s quite tasty.

I was lucky enough to be sent a SodaStream Jet, one 14.5 oz carbonator, two one liter bottles, and an assortment of soda flavors. It was very easy to make and I have been buying less soda and using this machine instead.

Basically all you do is fill the liter bottles with water and let them chilly in the fridge. Screw the bottles into the SodaStream Jet, add some bursts of carbonation, pour a cap full of the soda syrup in slowly, and ta-daaaa! Soda!

Look at the bubbles!

There are over 30 soda flavors to choose from, and each bottle makes about 12 liters. One 14.5 carbonator of CO2 can make 60 liters of soda. How neat is that? And, the best part, is when the carbonator is empty you can order a refill and they will take the empty one off your hands.

At first, I was skeptical of the quality of the sodas that this machine would produce. I was very pleased to say that it was *amazing.* Even the Diet mixes! I will compare the Cola and Diet Cola to a Pepsi product. Not as sweet as a Coke but definitely a tasty soda. I loved the Mango Orange flavor, but perhaps the best one of them all is the Energy mix! I swear, this stuff smells like Red Bull! I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. It is packed full of all the energy goodness that you would want from an energy drink, and it is really good. My boy likes the Root Beer the best (because a fresh Root Beer is always a delicious treat!), and he has been using this machine the most.

One another thing I would like to point out is that this machine is compact and fits nicely on one of our racks along with the mixes. It also is helping us cut back on purchasing soda… and the *really* nice part of this? We *always* have mixers on hand! With so many flavors to choose from, we never have to run to the store for something like a Sprite or Coke to mix with some sort of adult beverage. =)
