{miscellany monday: weekend edition}

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

I had a pretty sweet weekend. I'll post pictures later, but for now, here are the highlights:

{01} Friday night was spent at an amazing wine bar on the beach. We had delicious drinks and dinner, headed home and watched Jersey Shore. Score.

{02} I went to the Aerosmith concert on Saturday and had an excellent time. It was one of those $10 ticket deals LiveNation had offered up this summer. We got there early and were in the front row of the lawn section. It wasn't so bad. I mean, it was only $10! What a steal. Afterward I hunted down this Taco Bus place for late night eats. I had been desperate to try this place, but I'm never in the area.

{03} Sunday was kind of amazing. I woke up early and headed to a bridal show. It wasn't as good as the last one I went to, but I definitely had great success! There was a (cheesy) fashion show with dresses I hope no one will buy, and a lot of (cheesy) vendors. I found a hilarious DJ though who showed me his "work." Lots of fist pumping on the dance floor and he wanted to prove to me "he knew how to party." He was a trip. I just wanted to see his uplighting packages, but he wanted to sell me the whole show. I'm pretty sure my guy would panic if there was massive amounts of fish pumping at our reception. Anyway, after a while they drew prizes and wouldn't you know it... I *won!* I won 2 nights in a penthouse suite with champagne, strawberries and free breakfast on St. Pete Beach. I live on another beach north of St. Pete, so it will be nice to "get away" even though it's only a thirty minute drive south. I'm thinking about using it for my birthday weekend since I want to have a "chill" birthday this year since last year we had a hot pink limo and two months after my birthday this year is the *wedding.*

{04} I looked up possible wedding transportation and found out that it's pretty cheap to rent a "rocket ship." It seats ten and usually cruises up and down the beach walk in my city. It's hilarious... wonder how the bridal party will feel about it?

{05} It's the boy's 30th birthday this week. What the f do I get him!? He has everything and is predictably saying he "doesn't want anything." Ideas?

Clothes? My boyfriend always says to buy him clothes because he won't go shopping for himself! EVER.

Guys are hard to shop for... I'm gonna go with clothes or some kinda of sports thing (tickets, etc).

As for the "rocket ship", I think it's a really sweet ride :)

Clothes for sure!

Of COURSE you won! You win so many giveaways it's not even funny! :-p

Why do all men say they don't want anything for their birthdays? They seem to want things when they go shopping, but they don't make it easy to shop for them. The wedding ride looks like fun!

Congrats on winning the mini vacation! Very cool. As for your boy's birthday, Since it's kind of a biggie, have you thought about taking him to a nice dinner and maybe having his closest friends and family? Since he says he doesn't want anything, maybe good company would suit him. And maybe for something silly yet practical to keep him feeling like an "un-grown-up" I love www.perpetualkid.com Good luck!
