Summer is Over…Sort of

Since I live in Florida, Summer isn’t really over until November. I mean, it’s still *hot* as anything right now even though “fall” is approaching. In fact, I can remember Christmas holidays where I wore short skirts or even tank tops. I’m hoping for a very mild winter since my wedding is slated for outside in February. Last winter we had a very cold season with low temperatures lasting through March.

Even though it might not feel like fall yet, it is time to say good bye to summer. I saw this on According to Christa and I wanted to play along.

Summer Memories

Favorite Summer Movie: I didn’t really go to any movies this summer except The Other Guys. I wouldn’t classify that as my “favorite.” I did see a lot of movies thanks to trusty Netflix that I thoroughly enjoyed, but here was my favorite:

Our Family Wedding was my *favorite* movie that I watched this summer. It’s possible I really liked it since I (obviously) just was engaged and it was cute to see how their wedding played out. They had very involved parents who didn’t get along so it was super dramatic. It was funny and made me stress out less about wedding planning. They kept saying “our marriage, their wedding” throughout and I hate to admit that it’s true. We want to put on a great party so *everyone* has a good time. Favorite Summer Song: Anything Nicki Minaj. I can’t help but love her even though she had a crazy outfit on during the VMAs and makes weird facial expressions. She appeared on a lot of tracks this summer (like “Bottoms Up by Trey Songz), and they were all fire. Her album (finally) comes out this fall, and I can’t wait to hear the rest.

Favorite Summer Cocktail: Heaven in a martini glass. Honest. I tried this at Bahama Breeze a few weeks ago and it was *amazing.* It is Cuervo Gold Tequila, kiwi, strawberry and mango ices and a shot of Schnapps on the side. I usually avoid frozen drinks, because they make me feel so full. However, this one felt like a smaller serving than a regular margarita or something. I am drooling and want to go back for Happy Hour.

Favorite Summer Outfit: Sundresses. Obviously!

Favorite Summer Reading: I read a few funny books. Most recently I enjoyed It’s Not Me, It’s You–a memoir by Stefanie Wilder. Soooo funny.

I’m currently Bitches on a Budget. I love it so far. There really aren’t any tips in the book so far that I don’t already know about, but it’s just making me laugh. They’re vulgar about saving money while stay fabulous. I like their style.

Favorite Summer Moments: Um…. getting ENGAGED. I can’t trump that.

Congrats on the engagement, sounds like an excellent summer. You’re so lucky to be able to enjoy the warm weather. We’re already back to rain in Seattle. Luckily it’s been pretty light lately (I hope I didn’t just jinx us…)
