Thoughtless Thursday: Blank

I heard this song today and it made me smile. It gave me hope. It's a silly J. Lo song, but it made me happy today (and, on this day, I felt like I needed simple reminders of everyone who does support me!).

There's no way you can stop me this time
Or break this spirit of mine
Like the stars above I'm gonna shine
Anything I want will be mine
Tonight I'm gonna have a good time
Call a few friends of mine
'Cause I'm loving life

What I'm Loving Wednesday*

I can't believe it's *already* Wednesday! I feel like it was just Monday morning and I was fumbling with my alarm clock at 4:30 a.m. Yes, you read that right. This week, and the next three weeks, my alarm clock is set for 4:30 a.m. Why am I torturing myself? I found a Groupon (addicted, right?!) for a 30 Day Boot Camp at 5:30 a.m. I thought, Why not? It's just 30 days with no obligation. It just might be the kind of "jump start" I want for healthy living.

You see, I already go to a trainer. I started at the beginning of October. Yet, I'm still not disciplined enough. I'm not seeing results as quickly as I'd like, and I just need to work out *more.* I certainly am getting my butt kicked and it's only Day 3! I have however noticed a spike in my morning energy and my mysterious back pain has seemed to clear up (For two weeks I was having miserable back pain that wouldn't go away. My doctor suggested I try physical therapy paired with some meds). I am totally wiped out by the time I get home, but I've managed to stay up until 10 p.m. each day this week.

I'm confident with this and I'm really hoping that I'll continue to see a difference as I carry out this ridiculously early work out. If anything, I'm certainly proud of myself for trying and for gaining "more hours in the day." Getting up this early allows me to be at work 20 minutes early which gives me plenty of time to "catch up" with my Internet stuff and my homework.

{What I'm Loving Wednesday}
*My Motivation
*Halloween! We are taking the dogs to a costume contest (with two-for-one drinks for the owners ;) ) tomorrow night and we are (finally) carving pumpkins tonight.
*I sent out my Save the Dates! However, I did not *love* the quality of the printing or how the designer used the wrong image!

I had sent the designer two pictures to make proofs from so I could see what I liked better. I didn't choose this image, but she printed it anyway. I mean, it's not BAD...it's just not my favorite. The printer quality she used was also terrible. Our skin came out very shadowy and we looked like we had been majorly Jersey Shore tanning it up.

I sent them anyways since they weren't *so* terrible. They just weren't perfect. I still received compliments, but I guess I had been expecting more.

*Blogging on Budget Savvy Bride! Some of these ladies have such great ideas. One of my posts was up yesterday!
The Budget Savvy Bride
*Taking it day by day...I try to make little goals for myself everyday. I have been quite successful so far! From paying off the honeymoon to getting some homework done, I have found that if I write a little list (as opposed to my huge To Do Lists!), I feel a little more accomplished. :)

Hope everyone is having a good week!

PlayStation Move: "Get Moving!"

I'm not exactly a video game nerd, but I do enjoy video games that are experiences--games that really get you into the action! I especially like games that create competition between our family and get us up and off the couch. Yes, I prefer my video games to require movement!

When I heard PlayStation was coming out with Move, I knew that I wanted to try it. PlayStation has always been one of my favorite gaming consoles, and they always have cutting edge technology. What is PlayStation Move? Well, it's a combination of your PS3, the PlayStation®Eye camera and the PlayStation®Move motion controller. There is a sphere at the end of the controller which lets the camera pinpoint your every move! I'm thinking this game will have superior precision when you play.

If Santa wanted to surprise our family with the PlayStation Move, I would be most excited for a change in our typical family nights. Instead of boring board games, we could interact with each other in some serious competitions! Some of the games that would be exciting for us include Brunswick Pro Bowling and Dance Dance Revolution (Hey, don't laugh! I love me some DDR!). My guy is really into golf video games so John Daly's ProStroke Golf would be ideal! And, my workouts don't have to stop at the gym. The PlayStation Move has Get Fit with Mel B which I'm super duper excited about. You guys should already know how much I *love* her!

This is definitely going on my holiday wish list, and it is certainly affordable. If you already have
a PS3 it's only $99 to upgrade with the MOVE bundle package!

For more information, be sure to visit the Move website!

As you know, I'm on this big fitness kick. I'm trying to watch what I eat and exercise regularly so that I won't have to worry bout potential health risks later in life. Luckily it is getting easier to go to the grocery store to stock up on the essentials since there seem to be many more healthy options.

Progresso® Reduced Sodium soups are available at your local grocery store and these soups just may help lower cholesterol when eaten with other heart healthy, soluble fiber containing foods. I was able to try the Chicken Gumbo and the Tomato Parmesan. I have *no* complaints. The soups were tasty and were just what I was looking for on a chilly evening. 30 Day Blog Challenge: Days 13, 14 & 15

My mind has run far, far away. Between homework, a weird lower back pain and a laundry list of things to do... I just am not with it lately. In an effort to stay on track, and since one of the topics I need to catch up on is about goals, here we go...

Day 13 -- Goals

Finish my Master's (hopefully Summer!)

Work out consistently

Say adios to fast food
Become more organized
Be a better "cleaner" (I always feel like I never have enough time to CLEAN and I do pieces at a time... that doesn't really solve anything, lol)

Walk the dogs more frequently
Become a "good wife" -- whatever that means but I want things to stay awesome !

Day 14 -- A Picture You Love
Since I frequently post pictures of my favorites, here is a piece of artwork that I have loved for years.

Waterhouse's The Lady of Shallot

I don't know why I love this painting so much. It reminds me of college. I was studying English Literature and reading poetry and generally *enjoyed* classes (I know, what a concept!). I had always been kind of a nerd for literature, but we had also studied some artwork that was inspired by poets and stories. This painting is actually kind of depressing (but hopeful in some way), Google it to read the poem in its entirety.

Day 15 -- Bible Verse
I. Don't. Have. One.

Not that I don't appreciate the Bible, I've just never read it in its entirety and I've never attending church on a consistent basis. Here's a completely inappropriate quote in its place:

"I'm not drunk, all right. I just have a speech impediment ... and a stomach virus ... and an inner ear infection." -- Family Guy

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 12

Day 12 -- What I Believe

I believe in making wishes.

I believe in true love.

I believe in sparkles and glitter.

I believe in sunshine and miracles.

I believe in growing old but not growing up.
I believe in late, late nights and early mornings.
I believe in smiles.

But, most of all...

I believe in myself.

*If you wanted something deep and spiritual from me, you weren't going to get it. I can't really explain my beliefs, mostly because I don't know what they are. I'm working on that though.

{tagged}

I was tagged recently in two question games, so it's only right if I repost!

The lovely and always fabulous Katie tagged me to participate in a little Q & A ... and as usual, I'm happy to oblige!

1. If you could only wear one color for the next 10 years, what would it be and why? This is totally tough. I'm definitely a bright colors kind of girl, but even I can admit that wearing hot pink every day would get old. Black will be too hot. White would be too messy. How about blue?

2. If you had to replace the Internet with another activity for 10 days, what would it be and why? Reading a book. I love to read and love to unwind after a long day with something to read...I just usually turn to reading things from my laptop and not actual pages. Sigh.

3. What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? Catch up on life! I do love to hit the beach, but even my beach days are few and far between since my guy's schedule is so wacky. On my days off now, I try to organize and catch up on some projects. I guess my favorite thing to do on my days off would be snuggling with the puppies and hanging out outside.

4. What is the strangest food or food combination that you love to eat? In middle school I remember people eating pizza and mayonnaise. The thought alone freaks me out! I'm a pretty traditional "eater." I don't really mix anything too crazy and I certainly don't try anything that's considered "strange."

5. Who would you want to play you if a movie was made about your life? Christina Ricci. We don't look anything alike but I adore her.

6. Which TV show would you like to have a cameo in? Modern Family for sure!

7. What is your absolute favorite dessert item…either homemade or at a restaurant? I am so not a dessert kind of girl. I try to avoid them since I eat so poorly already...a dessert a day would send me over the edge! I do like ice cream and cupcakes (who doesn't!?), but there's nothing that really gets me.

8. Which accomplishment in your life are you most proud of and why? I'd say graduating college. I know, I know, we all pretty much have graduated college...but I guess it's the one thing that I did "on my own." No one helped me get there, no one took care of me when I moved away, and no one held my hand when I scrambled to graduate on time.

Next up is a food survey! I was tagged by Wandering Thoughts of a Scientific Housewife!

1. What is your favorite dessert? See above! I guess a mint chocolate chip ice cream would do the trick.

2. Ever try to cook something and fail miserably? I luckily haven't failed TOO bad. Knock on wood but nothing has ever been burned so bad or completely inedible. My meals might not be graded an A for excellence... but they're worthy of an A for effort.

3. Is there a dish you haven't made yet but really want to? Now that it's turkey season, I sometimes wish for the day when I'll be making the Thanksgiving meal! I'm sure that will happen all in good time, and I should enjoy not being in charge, but one day I'll conquer that challenge.

4. What is your favorite food? Mexican! I love chicken cooked anyway, I love scallops and shrimp, I love steak!

5. What is your least favorite food? Most vegetables. Meat loaf.

6. Do you have any seasonal meals you like? Obviously Thanksgiving! It's now stonecrab season here and we had some delicious claws the other night! Living in Florida makes you appreciate the various seafood seasons!

7. What is your comfort food? Wendy's. I could eat everything off their $1 menu.

So bad for you...but oh so good!

8. Chocolate: milk, dark, or white? Milk chocolate is my favorite.

I'd love to hear your food answers! Please copy and repost and let me know! :)

30 Day Blog Challenge: Days 10 & 11

Day 10 -- Something You're Afraid Of

The apocalypse. Is it happening, is it not happening, can a girl just get some answers?! ;)

I suppose as far as more "rational" fears (is there even such a thing?)... I'm not too fond of high bridges. Death. Getting fat (What? It's true...). Pregnancy and childbirth. Needles. Dentists. Yuck, yuck and more yuck.

I think what is important is that I usually face my fears and suck it up and do what needs to be done. I can be a tough girl every now and then, and I don't avoid the dentist just because his tools frighten me. I just have to face my fear and get it done.

Day 11 -- Favorite Television Shows

I like to stick to happier shows though a little teenage angst is never a bad thing.

Desperate Housewives
90210 (both old & new!)
Modern Family
Jersey Shore (How can I resist?)
Rules of Engagement
Glee (of course)
Seinfeld (my favorite show in syndication, please never take it off the air!)

Elaine can always make me laugh...

Even if I've seen the episode 50 times, I still laugh.

& can I just mention that my ultimate show that I miss way too much and ended before its time...

The OC.
There, I said it. I absolutely love it. I kind of want to go home and watch all the episodes again.

Don't tell anyone, but Peter Gallagher (the dad) was my favorite. :)

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 8 & 9

Let's play catch up...shall we?

Day 8 -- A Place You Have Traveled To
I actually haven't been to that many places. I've lived in Florida my entire life so I've (of course) been to the touristy spots in Orlando. I've cruised to the Bahamas twice, flew to New York City, Boston, and Chicago in years past, and I've been to the Florida Keys twice. I must admit I prefer tropical weather to low temperatures, but I've enjoyed all of my vacations.

Since I've never talked about my NYC on this blog since it was forever ago, here's a quick look:

My Weekend in NYC circa 2005...

DSCN0953
Yes, I was a grown woman who went to watch Jesse McCartney perform on CBS' morning show. I forget the name of it.

DSCN1048
It was very pretty.

DSCN1046
This was the lead guy in Avenue Q. We were able to watch it from the front row since we won the lottery! We also saw Rent earlier in the day. It was a very lucky Broadway kind of day. :)

DSCN1075
My grandparents took me on this trip and it was Gay Pride Weekend! Hooray! We watched the parade...
DSCN1071
DSCN1072

And that was pretty much it. I was barely 21. It was a lot of fun but I think I'd really enjoy the city if I went again now. I'd love to visit NYC when it's winter and snowing...I've still never seen snow!

Day 9 -- A Picture of Your Friends

The key people are in this picture our engagement party...

But there are some besties that should be featured individually, because well, they're awesome. :)

I have my sassy dance teacher and work friend...

...my favorite party girl...

...my partner in pop music love...

...a cocktail lover...

...my sketchy internet friend... (we live far away and keep in touch online)

...lovely ladies who I don't get to see that often either...

& then there's Kris--who will always drink you under the table...
