{what a weekend}

This is a very random totally miscellaneous post. This would have been good to put up YESTERDAY for Miscellany Monday, but that didn't happen.

A good friend of mine celebrated his 30th birthday recently. We do things pretty big for birthdays. We try to go all out and do some amazing outings, and I'm happy to say this birthday met all those requirements! We definitely celebrated hard.

We started the evening with dinner at Hamburger Mary's. I know this is a chain restaurant, but I had never been before. It is pretty popular in our area, and I thought it would be funny to bring the birthday boy to this restaurant. The food looked good and we heard there was some entertainment... so we had to go!

Hamburger Mary's was pretty neat. There was a drag show starting soon so we ordered some drinks and browsed the menu. I was very excited by their extensive bar menu! I love trying new drinks, but I'm not very creative when it comes to mixing alcohol and mixers.

The birthday boy tried a pink frozen drink that had whipped cream.

The food looked good but I played it safe with a chicken wrap. Though, this guy was on the menu:

Wow! Not sure if I could eat that one.

We moved on to an Irish Pub for beer pong....

...and then we hit another place for karaoke. Song of choice? "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" by Wham. Classic.

We were smart and decided to get a hotel so we did not have to drive. For the cost of splitting a hotel room, this was definitely worth it. I feel like I don't want to go out anymore unless I know we have a hotel that's in walking distance! It was so much fun.

The next day I bought tickets for Steve-O! Yes, he is trying out this whole stand up comedian thing and I was VERY curious. Just like everyone else, I had enjoyed Jackass but wasn't really a Steve-O fan. His comedy show was pretty hilarious and he had some stunts that he did too. I don't want to ruin anyone's surprise but there was fire, lemon juice, and knives. Awesome.

After the show, he promised to take a picture with EVERYONE who came.
That was very nice of him.

To end the birthday boy's weekend, we had a Sunday FUNday! Since we live close to the beach, we hit up a local tiki bar and enjoyed the nice weather.

After the beach, Scott & I found a random church carnival that was closing up shop and we just *had* to ride the ferris wheel. It was hilarious... we ended up on two more rides before hitting the grocery store (what we were SUPPOSED to be doing) and grilling out yummy steaks.

I think I'm exhausted from the weekend still! Either way, I hope the birthday boy had a stellar 30th! Now, it's time for the next party....
