American Craft Beer Week: Brews With an Attitude Beer Fest

A beer fest on a Tuesday night sounded weird, but I was interested. It was held at an event facility near my job, so I figured it would make a fun "happy hour." Little did I know that happy hour ended up being five! It was a blast. Time flew and for a Tuesday it was a little wild!

After having a happy meal for dinner (they're only $1.99 on Tuesdays and Thursdays down here, I couldn't help myself!), Jen & I headed to the festival. We had a mission to try everything but we ended up finding a few favorite beers and stuck with those.

Okay, it's GO time!

There were various artists and setups throughout the festival.

Our tasting glass. In this one? A True Blonde Ale by the Tampa Bay Brewing Company.

Some of the various vendors

So we wouldn't forget, Jen took audio notes of what we were drinking!

A beer I had never heard of...but apparently it's the cheap beer of up north?

My favorite tent... it had cider!

My favorite discovery of the night was the Woodchuck Summer Cider. It was blueberry! Now... where to find this seasonal brew?

One neat aspect of the festival was a station that had mixes of various beers (like Magic Hat & Woodchuck) and a station with "mystery" beers. I tried a Son of a Peach Wheat Ale here. I've never seen or heard of that beer before, it was quite good!

Another highlight of the night was Shock Top's Raspberry Wheat! This is another one that I have never seen before. It was delicious. I, obviously, like a good fruity beer.

Slowly progressing through the festival...

With Jen enjoying our samples

Ran into a friend who clearly needed the car to stand up...lol

Right...

Girls like beer too ya know! :)

WAY past our bed time but enjoying one last blueberry cider!

Overall, it was a great event. It wasn't too crowded but it was still busy. I'm not a beer expert or anything, but I am familiar with a lot of brews and was glad to see that there were still things I had never seen or tried. I was impressed. :) Now... I'm thirsty!

*Read Jen's take on the event here. She was way more observant of tastes and flavors. :)
