Shipping Up To Boston {Fenway!}

SAM_1632

After a short nap after visiting the Sam Adams Brewery, it was time for some baseball. We got there before the gates opened -- we wanted to explore -- and got in at about 5 p.m. We walked around, grabbed some beers, and took a lot of pictures.

Our hotel had a different door that took you out facing Fenway.

Fenway was not what I was expecting at all. It was smaller than I had thought and there were not very many beer stations. I kept finding the same ones with all the same beers. I'm used to having a lot of choices at a baseball game and I didn't really have any at Fenway. Okay, I know beer isn't the point of a baseball game but it is a nice touch.

I loved seeing the old seats and the scoreboard which is manually run.

Yes - I wore my Rays hat. No, no one was mean to me. I was expecting it!
Right at the GREEN MONSTER! Woooo!

Our seats were supposed to be far away but it wasn't that bad! Since Fenway was not as massive as I was expecting, our outfield seats were not too shabby.

Our seats and the outfield are being me--the green ones!

Time for some PHOTOS!

Taking pictures of myself. Hello. No one has been rude to me yet. I was surprised.

Far -- but not TOO far.

It was surprisngly chilly and we were like BRRRR in the stands. I had my coat on and was still cold. While the Rays lost, we still had a good time. It was pretty awesome to be there in person after seeing it so often on TV And in movies (Fever Pitch is totally one of my favorites!). We were definiteley wiped from the long day and passed out after stopping at Boston Beer Works for some beer. Blueberries! In my beer!

All in all, it was quite a successful mission. Sure, the Rays lost. {And, they of course broke our hearts this week when they totally sucked it up with the Rangers} But, it was about more than winning & losing. It was just a quick getaway with my new husband before we started our new life in a new city! It felt like ... a way to celebrate I suppose. :-)

Oooh, what fun! I need to try some blueberries in my beer! I mean, that counts as a serving of fruit, right? Haha! Happy Friday!

I've always wanted to go to Fenway. It reminds me so much of Wrigley Field - old, with lack of beer options:)
