Tubular Tuesdays Music Linkup #2 {*90s!!}

Welcome to our link up! Um - hows about this is the HARDEST week to pick songs from. Jen was not kidding when she mentioned her & I were the hugest boy band fans ever. I will try to not make this post ridiculous -- but I would like to point out some lesser known boy bands at the end. Test your knowledge! ;-)

The 90s were totally awesome. I still pretty much only listen to 90s music. Sister Hazel, Third Eye Blind, Goo Goo Dolls, The Cure... a lot of my favorites had their best hits in the 90s. On the same note, a lot of the bands I like were *only* popular in the 90s. Sigh. Maybe I just like bad music? You can be the judge of that.

My 90s LIST!

The first CD that I ever purchased with my own money was Green Day's Dookie. I was like 9 years old. It was from Target. I'll never forget that!

Basketcase -- Green Day {1994}

Major girl crush time. I frickin' loved Aaliyah. I remember getting her first album when I was in about 5th grade and playing it OVER. And OVER. And over again. This was the first song that I knew of hers. RIP. She was so beautiful.

Back & Forth -- Aaliyah {1994}

I was really into r&b and ROCK when I was younger. My list is going to be all over the place before we get into boy band time.

Self Esteem -- The Offspring {1994}

I had this on CD *single.* I remember when that was the only way to really get music. I was too poor {since I was a kid!} to buy CDs so I would use my $1s to get CD singles from WalMart!

Cupid -- 112 {1996}

I'm pretty sure I watched this video ONE MILLION times in the 6th grade.

Can't Hold Me Down -- PUFF DADDY! Mase! Woo! {1997}

*Side Note: I totally LOVED Monica and Brandy during this time too. I don't think they're worthy of being included on this list, but I just remember really liking them. :-)

Motownphilly -- Boyz II Men {1991}

I'm pretty sure that I still freak out when I hear this in a club. Favorite song of all time.

Poison -- Bell Biv Devoe {1990}

I still adore Sister Hazel. I think I've seen them in concert... five times? Maybe six? I've lost count.

All For You -- Sister Hazel {1997}

And then... 1998 happened. Everything changed. In order to not be too annoying -- I'll only pick a few things here and save the rest of the embarrassing musical interests for next weeks 2000s post!

I mean I could tell you the first time I SAW Nsync on TV. The Disney Channel concert special. Shiny blue pants. If you know what I'm talking about -- you're cool. Or uncool. Whatever.

Total cheese. See below. I feel so old and creepy. Justin was SO YOUNG here. Just watch. Their choreography is too amazing for words. Thrusts, flips, jumps. Wow.

I Want You Back -- *NSYNC {1998}
Oh lord. The whole Disney special is on You Tube. Of course it is. Glad I have nothing to do this morning.

I waited in line for hours to get Jordan Knight to sign his CD single. He wouldn't hug me but he had on baby blue sunglasses. Douche.

Give It To You -- Jordan Knight {1999}

Get Down -- Backstreet Boys {1996}

And, last but certainly not least, I gotta have my girl Britney on this list.

Crazy -- Britney Spears {1999}
When that song came out, I knew it was all over and I really did like her. I couldn't pretend that I hated her anymore.

Side Note: Sometimes I wonder why I was attracted to men who could do complicated choreography.

Can't have a 90s post without mentioning...
Third Eye Blind
Goo Goo Dolls
Hero -- Mariah Carey
Macarena -- Los Del Rio
The Moffatts
HANSON!
LFO

EDITED TO ADD: Um, how did I forget about the Spice Girls? I'm pretty sure that I was obsessed with them... like in college. When they weren't popular. Someone stole my Spice World DVD and I was livid. Anyway, Spice Girls is totally on this list.

awesome - I can't believe I forgot Brittney - this is harder than I thought it would be! Britt-Britt was my absolute favorite!
That being said, I also forgot BBD - such shame that I left them off. 90's were great, though I never got into the boy bands, guess I was too cool or something?
