Happy Honeymoon: Day 7 {At Sea}

Our last day on the boat was bittersweet. Sure, we were exhausted... but we wanted some excitement. Since we are strangely competitive and had been collecting Carnival medals all week (if you had so many you could trade them in for a free bottle of champagne!), we set out to do some activities.

First up -- mimosas on the balcony.

Next -- a scavenger hunt. We totally ruled and won a trophy. Score.

We discovered that the big cans of Foster's were actually a bargain when drinking on the boat.

Winners!

Enjoying the balcony on our last afternoon on the boat.

SAM_0446
Yum!

SAM_0447
Have you noticed I took a lot of pictures of the drinks we ordered? Well, we ended up using Honeyfund for our registry and a LOT of our guests deposited money into our PayPal account for booze. No, I am not kidding. So... I Wanted to take a picture and on Facebook I tagged everyone showing what their deposit paid for. ;)

Now, these were the BEST!

SAM_0452
I took a picture because I need to re-create these at some point.

He's totally singing "Ice Ice Baby"

And, well, that's all she wrote! We were back in port by 7 a.m. Home by 10 a.m. We napped and caught up on life the rest of the day... as newlyweds!

4th of July : Oh, How Pinteresting!

I just had to start participating in "Oh, How PINteresting!" Not only because I'm obsessed with Pinterest (aren't we all?!), but also because it's a holiday weekend and there are some neato things online. Let's take a look at some of my favorite pins relating to the 4th! From wild nail polish to drink ideas, I think these are some pretty cool party ideas for July 4th. :)

Happy Honeymoon: {Day 6--Cozumel}

For Cozumel we knew we wanted to see the Mayan Ruins. We knew it was going to be more of a historical relaxing day. We boarded a ferry in Cozumel that took us to the mainland (Playa del Carmen). From there, we took a bus to Tulum for the ruins.

Once we were on the bus, they dumped us in a gift shop for a bit to shop. I think Scott was most excited about "real" Coca-Cola. When we finally got to Tulum, it was HOT. It was busy and we had a bit of a walk from the parking lot to the actual site of the ruins. Either way, it was beautiful. Not only was the weather nice, my pictures show just how lovely this place was. Luckily our guide only introduced us to a few things and then let us explore on our own.

There was a beach too!

Love these pictures. Far too lazy to watermark. Don't be a douche and steal!

The beach below was definitely crowded but it was so neat to see a beach at such a historical site.

After we explored the ruins and beach for a bit, I was super stoked about a crazy monkey. I love taking pictures with weird animals. This little guy was no exception.
SAM_0424
Why, hello there.
SAM_0426
Ummmm... does anyone else see what he is doing?!
SAM_0427
Lunch!
SAM_0428
My first supposedly authentic Mexican taco. SAM_0429
Seriously, we give the Ruins a big thumbs up. If you can get past the large tourist groups, the heat, and the excessive walking... it's pretty sweet!
SAM_0430
Slushies before boarding the boat as a reward for our good behavior.
SAM_0439
Dinner! <3

And, you know, totally asleep by 10 p.m.

Happy Honeymoon: {Day 5--Costa Maya}

Since they canceled Belize, I was SO not prepared for Costa Maya. All I knew was that it was a typical cruise port. Shops, restaurants, bars. We got off the boat and headed to a rooftop for for some Dos Equis to get us up and moving. We were not sure what to even DO here. It seemed like a gated off tourist trap (again!) so we wanted to explore. We left the walls of the Costa Maya cruise port and saw Senor Frogs in the distance. I've been to Senor Frogs twice before (in the Bahamas) and while it is a total tourist trap, they give you free shots. And more free shots. And more free shots. I had to go to the restroom so we stopped in for a beer. That beer became another beer and another. Soon the shots were flowing and I was playing drinking games.

I hate tequila... but when in Mexico...

SAM_0338
Hello, Senor Frogs!

SAM_0339
It's barely noon.

SAM_0341
Cheers!

All smiles

Not sure where the balloons came from...

We must have stayed at Senor Frogs for hours. We were having so much with the randoms and the staff. They were SO cool and I told them how this was the best Senor Frogs ever (at least, that I know of). After massive amounts of alcohol, a 2nd place victory in a balloon blowing and beer chugging competition, the staff gave everyone birthday candles. We sang Bohemain Rhapsody and then they blew air out of a scuba tank everywhere. It was the coolest thing I have ever witnessed while drunk.

More... shots

We finally pulled ourselves away from the bar and returned to the Costa Maya port area. They had a swim up bar and we got comfortable with some 40s of Sol. I'm pretty sure I blacked out.

Good bye Costa Maya!

We took a nap and I had chicken for dinner before, again, passing out by 10 p.m. Seeing a trend here?
