Book Club Friday {Happier at Home coming soon!}

So.... my favorite book of recent memory was The Happiness Project. What's not to love about a book that encourages you to try new things, send birthday cards to friends, and get your life together so that you feel...happier?

I wrote a novel about my love for the book and the quotes/things I learned a while ago:
The Happiness Project Review on Krystal's Kitsch

But -- she's back. By she I mean the author -- Gretchen Rubin! I'm so excited about her new book called Happier at Home. Now that I feel like I've become more of a homebody -- pregnancy and moving away from friends will do that to you! -- I'm curious to read about her philosophies on making your home life better.

Taken from her website:
"So, starting in September (the new January), Gretchen dedicated a school year—from September through May—to concentrate on the factors that matter for home, such as possessions, marriage, time, parenthood, body, neighborhood. How can she control the cubicle in her pocket? How might she highlight her family’s most treasured possessions? How, for so long, had she overlooked the importance of the sense of smell? And it really was time to replace that dud toaster."

 The book comes out on September 4th and I can't wait. I might not have time to actually READ a book -- what with a newborn and all -- but I do hope to incorporate more of her strategies into my everyday life. I'm not kidding when I say The Happiness Project helped me re-evaluate certain things in my life and decide to make changes. I hope her new book will do the same.

Totally need BOTH of those books, pronto! We're officially moving (yes, that's me over there in the corner, in the fetal position, sobbing quietly) so I don't think I'll have time to read until we're done, but these will be a perfect way to start to settle into a new life :)

Okay so I think you've officially inspired me to order The Happiness Project. I've heard about it before, but this review convinces me that it's a must read. The second one sounds great, too!
