Crazy Bride Rides

{ Someone randomly asked if they could "guest post" on my blog. I usually say no because they just want their links in it for some free advertising... however, this article was flat out ridiculous I couldn't NOT post it. }

Every bride wants her big day to be special, unique and - above all - memorable. For some, this means arriving at the church in a Rolls Royce, horse and carriage or vintage Hudson, but for other brides that's just - well - quite frankly, boring! UK-based company, PassSmart have written a top 5 of the craziest brides' rides that might just - or, then again, might not - inspire you.

Cycle rickshaw

For eco-friendly brides, the transport method of choice is the cycle rickshaw. Although arriving at your wedding on the back of a bike isn't a particularly traditional idea, it's certainly a different one. There's enough room for two in the back, and you can accessorize your rickshaw in any way you like; with flags, flowers, or 'just married', to add a touch of traditionalism. This one is for the bride traveling a short distance, as no one wants to be setting out for the church at 6am on their wedding day. An added bonus of the cycle rickshaw is that you can get your groom to cycle you away after the ceremony!

Why not carry on the cycle theme after you say 'i do', with a tandem bicycle. What better way is there to begin your married life together than on a bike for two?

Tank

If it's good enough for military men going into battle, then it's good enough for a bride on her special day. That's right, some brides have rolled up to their wedding venues in their very own armored, ex-military tank. From the camouflaged tank we all recognize from the big screen, to limo tanks and hearse tanks (yes, they really do exist), there are so many options for any bride looking to make a statement.

Tank hire is surprisingly popular for weddings and other occasions, as more and more brides look for wacky ways to make their day stand out. Why not if you can find a big enough parking space?

Emergency vehicles

They're probably the last vehicles you want to see turn up on your wedding day, but ex-emergency vehicles as wedding transport are surprisingly sought after. You can be escorted to your husband-to-be in the back of an NYPD car, and confuse your guests as it pulls up outside.

Why not go one step further and opt for an ambulance or fire engine - complete with fire men - to roll up outside in. At least you won't get stuck in traffic when riding in this. Not that we're recommending putting the sirens on or anything…

Tuk Tuk

It's a bit like the rickshaw but without the eco-friendly qualities. The tuk tuk brings a bit of south east Asia - without the traffic - to your big day, and can be transformed to create your perfect wedding vehicle. It's small but nifty, and will get you there a lot faster than the rickshaw. It's not ideal for a bride with a big, meringue dress, but can easily accommodate most newlyweds, and maybe even a best man.

Ice cream truck

Your guests will love you for turning up in an ice cream truck, full of their favorite sweet treats. Not only will they hear you coming with the unmistakable ice cream chime playing out, but there'll be some fantastic photo opportunities after the ceremony. You can even get a vintage truck to fit in with your theme, and, on top of that, you've got dessert sorted.

The kids will love it, the adults will love it and you're now friends with an ice cream truck driver for life. What more could you want?
